A shoe on the wrong foot is uncomfortable. When it's 3 sizes too big you find a way to mold it, so that it sort of fits, but you keep tripping over yourself. You find a place that your toe or heel has worn a small bowl and fill it with things that make it fit better, but it's never really quite right.

No matter what the reasons. May they be passion for life, slight clinical depression or imbalance, fear or simply just not having your shit together....when you finally find a shoe that DOES fit, it's a truly interesting experience. Sometimes trips down memory lane in your old shoes hurt or frighten you. Perhaps they just make you feel like a horrid person for allowing certain things to happen. At last, when you really sit down and examine those old shoes, you find that they served you well while you were wearing them, but they are ultimately unimportant now since you've found a pair that fits so much better.

Now there's a true Hollyism for ya.

Tonight, a series of events led to a replaying of my past. Some of it was painful, some of it was filled with very happy moments. In the end, it makes me proud to be standing where I am now. I've finally decided what I want to be when I grow up. ME! And that, my friends, is the very best thing I can be.

At the end of the day, the best shoe is the one that lets you walk without pain.

Some shoes may appear stylish to the eye, but what's style in a shoe? Isn't it better to be poised and move well while wearing one's unstylish loafers? Better to convey one's togetherness with the movements of the body than wear some prevaricatingly pretty, but uncomfortable shuck of leather, staggering around, tottering until the thing breaks in.

I have it on good opinion that shoes really don't conform to your foot, but the other way 'round: that the best thing is to start with a shoe that fits well.

Shoe fits - wear it or foo shits - wear it?

Being authentic and natural is always the best way to be.

Yeah, it can be very uncomfortable and unnatural to wear a shoe on the wrong foot. Kind of like wearing a condom on the wrong head.

Shakespeare said it best..or not

Aha! Eureka! I have it:

"What's in an shoe? A Kenneth Cole by any other name would still walk as smooth."

-Shakespeare (except not)

Unless, of course, you're someone else. :)
