PREPARATIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY SHOULD BE RUSHED TO
COMPLETION.

I think it's bad when you start memorizing these phrases.

Baton Rouge is under an "Inland Tropical Storm Warning". We're watching.

Also, people from Houston headed this way. So we have folks from New Orleans and now folks from the West and we didn't have room for the first run as it was.

*grips head*

Phones are spotty again. Traffic is horrendous. Rain has begun. I couldn't get to Keith and Kate's to get my book. I tried. Spent 3 hours in traffic. Gave up.

Are we there yet?

I'm out of milk and bread. I want to go hide in a hole.

Max has a cold.

I have this feeling that this is gonna be way worse than Katrina.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. We have been watching a few storms heading our way, but they are nothing like what you all have faced and are about to. I love a good thunderstorm, honestly, but the thought of hurricanes is a bit much. Growing up where I did we were always prepared for tornados to rip through (my mom trained us to head for the cellar room with mattresses for cover, or the creek bed) Now, who's going to train me for hurricanes??? On an island? In cheap Navy housing???

I have no sage advice to pass on for you, other than stay safe! I'll be watching the news and poking my head in here as I can find time (still no access from home!) to check up on you. Hugs!
