I *did* promise elaboration.
My trip to San Francisco (well, not really SF) by Holly L. Selden
On the way there, I was reading on the plane. I realized, quite suddenly, that I'd not ever finished this book. Crap. I swore I had. By it's very nature, though, it wasn't going to be read until it was good and ready. So...now it's been read.
Comments 2, 4, 5 and 6 are in direct relation to said book. No, the O is not an orgasm. Sorry, please drive through.
I had a lovely time. Mostly. I had a few very "Holly" moments where I turned into a raging bitch...but for the most part, I was well behaved.
On Thursday and Friday, we went to karaoke. I punked out. No two ways about it. Did one song. Now here's where I piss myself off. Dude. I've been talking for HOW long about going out to SF and doing karaoke with these wonderful friends of mine????? Who was sick of hearing about it? Yeah. I punked the fuck out.
Friday night's karaoke location was not fun for me. Let's face it. I hate not being able to talk. Or move. Or talk while moving. Or something. I don't like crowded places. I don't really mind a lot of people, but the concentrated form of them tends to drive me up a wall really fast unless I'm specifically in the mood for it. I wasn't, apparently.
The food - Holy crap the food was fantastic. From In and Out to the little Persian market (Alvin! I left my cherries!!!) it was ALL good. I had Persian, Chinese, Burgers, home cooked yummy stuffs that I didn't eat enough of cause I just don't eat in the morning and the best of all was the Phillipino birthday party spread.
You see...here in Lousy-Ana we have a few options. Cajun, Italian, Greek & Lebanese (always in the same restaurant), Cajun, Italian, Bad Chinese, Cajun, 1 good Japanese place, Cajun, Italian....get the point? Oh, and one German restaurant way the fuck downtown that's only open for lunch.
The Entertainment - Karaoke (of course), two lovely shows...Cabaret and Brave Irene. If you can find a production of Brave Irene playing in your area, go see it. I can't promise it will be as good as the one with the lovely Keite, but it's a good story. Golden Gate Bridge. Fog...lots of fog. Particle accelerators.
Most importantly, the friends. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to get to hang out with two people I consider very dear and to meet some folks I'd heard much about.
Pictures will follow at some point. I need to get copies of all of them...*AHEM*....then I'll post.
